  05/26/2021   (4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
   Online via Zoom

This virtual event brings Professor Ray Hernández-Durán (University of New Mexico) and Professor Emmanuel Ortega Rodríguez (University of Illinois, Chicago) into discussion of the historical and political shifts in the field of the Art of the Spanish Americas. They will share how their backgrounds have affected their personal journeys through the highest levels of academia; discuss their field of study and how it has radically changed over the last 30 years; and present informed opinions on why these changes matter, and how they reflect historical and political contexts.

With host and moderator Dr. Kathryn Santner, Thoma Scholar, Art of the Spanish Americas.
