Traveling exhibition The Crime of Art, now on view at the Cummer Museum of Art, centers on Kota Ezawa’s study of a major museum heist that remains unsolved.
On loan from the Thoma Foundation is Ezawa’s Double Tape, a two-channel digital video animation on vintage monitors which replicates actual security footage from the 1990 heist from the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum. This theft, in which works by Rembrandt, Degas, and Manet were stolen, remains unsolved.
