The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation has made a generous gift to the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts (CADA). This gift will create a new appointment in the field of Art of the Spanish Americas at CADA’s School of Art and Art History and distinguishes UIC as the only PhD-granting department of art history in Chicago with a specialist in this area. Building on years of successful collaboration with the Foundation, Professor Emmanuel Ortega has been named as CADA’s first Marilynn Thoma Scholar.
