Thoma Foundation Makes New Hire in Engagement
| April 1, 2026 |
The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation is pleased to announce the expansion of its engagement department with the appointment of Alexandra Hulsey as Engagement and Creative Manager. She will help lead the Thoma Foundation’s communications, brand identity, and narrative development across its initiatives.
Hulsey is an artist, writer, and communications strategist with experience building cultural brands and working at the intersection of contemporary art and institutional storytelling.
“This is an exciting and pivotal time of growth for the Foundation—just in the last year, we loaned over 350 works from our collection, and awarded more than 100 scholarships, fellowships, and grants through our Thoma Scholars Program and other giving initiatives. Alexandra’s arrival reflects our commitment to building on that,” said founder Carl Thoma. “Her experience and strategic vision will strengthen how our team shares the stories behind our most important programs and ensure that the Foundation’s voice is as strong as the work we do.”
Hulsey most recently served as Senior Manager of Brand Strategy and Communications at Dallas Contemporary, leading PR, digital, and editorial strategy. She is an alumna of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and holds a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
