Emma Talley is from Memphis, Texas, which has a population of 2,035 and is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 287, State Highway 256, and FM 1547. Emma graduated from Memphis High School.
What did you like most about your hometown?
I liked having my family around me, as well as my church.
Why did you choose Texas Tech?
I chose Texas Tech simply because it feels like home.
Major and/or Career Goals
My major is Agricultural Education with an emphasis on Leadership. With this degree, I plan to become an Extension Agent and work for the 4-H Foundation.
What types of reading do you enjoy?
I enjoy fantasy novels like Harry Potter.
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy?
I absolutely love livestock. Since I was in the third grade I have been involved with the stock show industry. Even though I can not exhibit anymore, I still plan to stay involved!
What things are you good at that nobody knows about?
I am good at decorating and organizing!

I have a heart for Jesus and a passion for teaching young children about agriculture. And I am very thankful for the Thoma’s generosity! Without them, none of us would be as confident in our schoolwork. Thank you both for giving all of us the opportunity of a lifetime.
