Kathia (Kathy) Aragon is from Canadian, Texas, located on U.S. 60 with a population of 2,210. Kathy graduated from Canadian High School.
What did you like most about your hometown?
As my town has been hit with a couple of tragedies these past couple of years, my
community has made sure to reach out and help anyone that was in need. The way my
hometown is so loving and caring to everyone is what I like most about it!
Why did you choose Texas Tech?
Texas Tech University was one of the only few universities that had the degree I wanted,
Human Sciences. This degree gave me many interesting choices to choose my
concentrations from. Additionally, I was blessed and honored to have been chosen to be
a part of the Thoma Scholarship Program, an opportunity I just had to take!
Major and/or Career Goals
My major is Human Sciences with concentrations in Nutrition, Biology, and
Biobehavioral Health and Wellness. I am also on the pre-med route with a goal of
studying family medicine in medical school to become a family physician!
What types of reading do you enjoy?
I love reading all kinds of cookbooks.
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy?
I love cooking, baking, and playing tennis.
What things are you good at that nobody knows about?
Drawing and writing essays.
