Twenty software, video, and light-technology artworks from nineteen international artists and artist groups working at the forefront of digital and electronic art will be exhibited in Message from Our Planet, a traveling exhibition curated around the idea that media technologies – from vintage devices to cutting-edge digital algorithms – offer distinct ways for artists to communicate with future generations, encapsulating the artifacts and ambitions of contemporary society. This exhibition opens October 1, 2022 at the exhibition’s first venue, the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa. 

The exhibition tours to four additional venues over the next two years, including the Weisman Art Museum, the Grand Rapids Art Museum, the Pensacola Museum of Art, and the Chazen
Museum of Art. A free, fully illustrated brochure designed to emulate a newspaper is available within the exhibition.
