The Foundation is pleased to make digital images of artworks from our collection available to scholars and educators. We will only consider requests to use or reproduce images for scholarly and educational purposes. Requests for images should be submitted via the Image and Research Request Form below.
Requests for images will be considered on a case-by-case basis; we regret that we may sometimes not be able to accommodate them.
When filling out the Image and Research Request Form, please be as specific as possible about intended use. Incomplete image requests may be delayed or denied. Requests for commercial use, such as advertising, will not be approved on any grounds.
Please note that, although they may belong to the Foundation, images or objects appearing in the images may be protected by copyright, publication rights, or related interests that are not owned by the Foundation. In such cases, we may not be authorized to grant permission, and it will be the requester’s responsibility to contact the appropriate party.
Upon making a request, please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing. Upon completion of the request process and approval, images will be made available to the requester for download.
Applicants agree that each use of the image must be accompanied by the appropriate credit line provided with the image.
Uses of the image reproduction are limited to a single specific educational and/or communications purpose in support of an exhibition or publication. The right applies to printed and online applications. Reuse of the images by publishers, organizers or project partners beyond the specific purpose is not granted. Commercial use is specifically prohibited. The reproduction rights for additional projects may be requested and will not be unreasonably withheld.
Approved applicants must provide the Foundation with a hard copy or PDF of the project in which the image has been reproduced.
