The Foundation is pleased to make digital images of artworks from our collection available to scholars and educators. We will only consider requests to use or reproduce images for scholarly and educational purposes. Requests for images should be submitted via the Image and Research Request Form below.
Requests for images will be considered on a case-by-case basis; we regret that sometimes we may not be able to accommodate a request.
When filling out the Image and Research Request Form, please be as specific as possible about intended use. Incomplete image requests may be delayed or returned. Requests for commercial use such as advertising will not be approved on any grounds.
Please note, although they may belong to the Foundation, images, or objects appearing in the images may be protected by copyright, publication rights, or related interests that are not owned by the Foundation. In such cases, we may not be authorized to grant permission and it will be the requestor’s responsibility to contact the appropriate party.
Upon making a request, please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing. Upon completion of the request process and approval, images will be made available to the requestor for download.
Applicants agree that each use of the image must be accompanied by the following credit line: “Collection of Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation”.
Uses of the image reproduction are limited to a single specific educational and/or communications purpose in support of an exhibition or publication. The right applies to printed and online applications. Reuse of the images by publishers, organizers or project partners beyond the specific purpose is not granted. Commercial use is specifically prohibited. The reproduction rights for additional projects may be requested, and will not be unreasonably withheld.
Applicants must provide the Foundation a hard copy or PDF of the project in which the image has been reproduced.
