On loan to the Art Institute of Chicago are two historic American paintings dating from the 1600s to the early-1800s, including a painting by an unidentified artist created in the 17th or 18th century of Santiago Mataincas (or Santiago Mataindios) and a portrait by an unidentified artist created c. 1820-1830 of an unknown woman and her son.
