The Grand Masquerade, Federico Solmi’s first solo exhibition in the United States, takes place from August 17 – October 6, 2019, at the Tarble Arts Center at Eastern Illinois University. This exhibition is curated by Michael Schuetz.

On loan from the Thoma Foundation is Solmi’s 15-channel digital animation Douche Bag City. This artwork, modeled after a first-person shooter game, explores the shortcomings of capitalism, global financial meltdown, and zombies.

Solmi created this video installation for The Dissolve, SITE Santa Fe’s 8th international biennial in 2011. This artwork was conceived to be a satire of the 2008 Wall Street financial crisis. The main character, Dick Richman, is a greedy, dishonest, selfish Wall Street employee who was banished to live in ‘Douche Bag City,’ a hopeless place where the greedy villains of society are imprisoned for the crimes they have committed against their community.
