Thoma Foundation Supports Innovative Work-Based Learning at Amarillo College with $1 Million Grant

The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation is excited to announce a $1 million grant to Amarillo College. This grant—the largest the Foundation has made to date—will support the Texas community college’s innovative Adams Earn & Learn Program, a multiyear effort to accelerate work-based learning in the Texas Panhandle region. The pilot program will create a proof of concept for healthcare and STEM programs with the long-term goal of expanding work-based learning opportunities into all program areas. The Thoma Foundation grant will support coordinators for the program, stipends for STEM and healthcare students, and project evaluation.

Announcing the 2021–22 Marilynn Thoma Fellows and Research Award Winners in Art of the Spanish Americas

The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation will award nearly $160,000 in fellowships and grants to support scholarship on the art of the Spanish Americas. This year, the Foundation is pleased to award three scholars whose work advances our knowledge of mural painting, conventual art, and portable altars in early modern South America. Now in their third year, the Marilynn Thoma Fellowships and Research & Travel Awards are the only unrestricted research funding in the United States devoted exclusively to the field of art of the Spanish Americas.

Thoma Foundation’s 2021 Digital Changemakers Announced

$500,000 to Improve Technology in the Cultural Sector The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation is thrilled to announce the recipients of the inaugural Digital Changemaker Grant, an initiative to support medium-sized cultural organizations reimagining the role and use of technology in achieving their missions. The Digital Changemaker Grant will support five cultural organizations with grants of $100,000 each based on the merits of their application proposals: Asia Society Texas Center, Flagstaff Arts Council, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and Snow City Arts.
