Art of the Spanish Americas

The Thoma Foundation is proud to loan two Spanish Colonial paintings of Saint Michael the Archangel for the Cantor Arts Center’s exhibition How the West Was Won. These 17th- and 18th-century paintings are juxtaposed with Yinka Shonibare’s “Cowboy Angels” prints to provide deeper context for thinking about identity and power across the Americas and in the Wild West.

How the West Was Won is on view until October 28, 2019. For more information about this exhibition and the included works, please visit the Cantor Art Center’s website.
